Decades of Experience to Offer Support
Over the last 45 years, SAFE Shelter has been a respected resource for area women, men, and children who need support to escape domestic violence. Over the years, there have been many changes in the way we support domestic violence victims, but the most unfortunate reality is that the demand for our services continues to grow. One core need remains the same- each victim needs a circle of safe support around them so they can break free from their traumatic experience and end the cycle of violence for a stable future. Every Domestic Violence victim has a unique story with unique needs, but most require a circle of safe support, including:
Emergency and Transitional Housing
Meals, clothing, and other basic needs
Help with transportation & childcare
Individual & Family Counseling Sessions
Life-skills support to make lasting changes
Donate to Support Our Families
SAFE Shelter offers hope
On average, every 6 hours, 365 days a year, someone reaches out to us for support. Your donations help us meet the recurring needs of people in crisis.
All families deserve hope for their future and a safe place to call home. Your support allows us to create that home for those experiencing domestic violence in our community and shine hope where there was darkness.
Together, we can provide life-saving services, safety, and a nurturing home to the domestic violence victims and their children who need us most.
Adopt-A-Room Program
SAFE Shelter has 48 beds and is nearly always at capacity, which takes a toll on the bedrooms with all those moms and kids coming through. That means that 12 client bedrooms housing women and children in an emergency domestic violence situation can be adopted.
Help underwrite the cost of a SAFE Shelter bedroom for one year with your charitable donation. Please click the button below to learn more about our Adopt-a-Room initiative.
